Pencil is an animation/drawing software. It lets you create traditional hand-drawn animation (cartoon) using both bitmap and vector graphics. Pencil is free and open source. You can export your animation as a sequence of PNG images, or as a Flash movie (SWF) or a QuickTime movie (ffmpeg requered).
